Oxford offers a range of stays from historic college-linked guest rooms and boutique hotels located near the city's ancient port areas to riverside camping options on the outskirts. Prices vary significantly based on the season and proximity to the city center, typically ranging from £80 per night for budget-friendly guesthouses to over £250 for premium riverside establishments. Visitors often prefer staying in the central districts to access the canal and river paths easily before the early morning race start.

Beyond the water, the city provides extensive opportunities for cultural and physical engagement. Weekend visitors can explore the historic university colleges, participate in guided punting sessions on the river, or visit archaeological sites related to the medieval period. The surrounding Oxfordshire countryside offers numerous walking trails that follow the river’s path, providing a different perspective on the landscape traversed during the race. Local food markets and breweries continue the city's tradition of artisanal craft, making them popular stops for participants looking to experience the local flavor after the event.
