About the race
Set against the vibrant backdrop of the Catalan coast, the Marnaton eDreams Sitges 2026 is far more than just a swimming competition; it is a full-scale celebration of the Mediterranean lifestyle. Held in the picturesque town of Sitges, a destination renowned for its golden beaches, historic charm, and artistic heritage, this event captures the essence of open water swimming by blending athletic challenge with deep communal well-being.
Since its inception, the Marnaton circuit has become a hallmark of the Spanish open water scene, attracting swimmers of all levels—from seasoned marathoners to families and young enthusiasts. The Sitges edition, in particular, is celebrated for its inclusive atmosphere, offering multiple distances that ensure everyone can participate, whether they are looking for a personal best or a fun day out in the sea. The event is deeply rooted in the local culture, transforming the coastline into a hub of activity where sport, leisure, and wellness converge under the warm Catalan sun.
What truly sets this race apart is the 'experience' factor. The weekend is carefully curated to offer a holistic journey: it begins with technical swimming clinics that allow participants to refine their skills in the crystalline waters of the Balearic Sea. After the main events, the energy shifts to the 'After Swim' celebration at the iconic Beso Beach, where athletes and their supporters gather for awards, music, and local gastronomy. The weekend concludes on a serene note with a rooftop yoga masterclass, perfectly encapsulating the balance between physical exertion and mental relaxation.
Whether you are a competitive swimmer or someone who simply enjoys the thrill of a sea swim, Sitges provides the perfect stage. Its proximity to Barcelona makes it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway, allowing you to combine your passion for swimming with the rich cultural offerings of the region.
