About the race
The Oeiras Open Water Race is an open water challenge held at Praia de Caxias, in Oeiras. The event features distances of 750, 1,500, and 3,000 meters, promoting open water swimming for participants of all levels. The event is organized by the Clube Olímpico de Oeiras with the support of the Câmara Municipal de Oeiras and technical organization by HMS Sports.

Useful info
Minimum age 15 years. Wetsuit mandatory if water <18°C, optional if ≥18°C. Race kit (swim cap, chip, t-shirt) can be picked up on the day of the event. Wave starts (8 athletes every 10s). Chip mandatory on the ankle. Buoyancy aids prohibited. Registration deadline May 29, 2026.
How to get there
Lisbon Airport (LIS) 25km away. Train: Cascais line from Cais do Sodré station to Oeiras or Santo Amaro (10 min walk). By car: A5 or N6 (Marginal) with parking available at the Marina de Oeiras. Easy access via taxi/Uber from the airport (approx. 25-30 min).
