About the race
The NC Open Water Knock Out Trophy takes place in the idyllic setting of Baie des Citrons in Nouméa. This event serves as a regional promotion and showcase for open water swimming, open to FFN-licensed swimmers and those from foreign federations.
The competition stands out for its dynamic "Knock Out" format. The course consists of 500-meter loops. The progression follows a series of eliminations: after an initial 1500m race, 50% of the participants advance, followed by a second 1000m race where 50% of the qualifiers are retained, culminating in a final 500m sprint.
