About the race

UltraSwim 33.3 #12CROATIA is more than just a swim; it is an immersive odyssey through the heart of the Adriatic. Hosted in the stunning region of Split-Dalmatia, this event invites you to test your limits in the crystal-clear, azure waters surrounding Hvar—widely celebrated as the sunniest island in Europe. Starting in the ancient, tranquil village of Stari Grad and finishing in the vibrant, historic Hvar Town, the race offers a perfect blend of serene Mediterranean landscapes and an exhilarating physical challenge.

Designed for those who want to push their boundaries, the event provides a unique opportunity to start your open water season in the northern hemisphere with ideal water temperatures, typically hovering between 19-21°C. The spirit of the UltraSwim 33.3 series is built on community and shared endurance. Participants from across the globe gather here, creating a diverse and supportive atmosphere where personal milestones are celebrated alongside high-level athletic performance. Whether you are aiming for the full distance or testing your mettle with the '33.3/2' build option, the event is structured to provide professional-grade support while maintaining a deeply personal, welcoming vibe.

Beyond the physical test, the location itself is a crown jewel of the Adriatic. You will swim through hidden bays and island passages that are inaccessible by land, offering a rare, intimate perspective of Croatia's rugged coastline and rich marine biodiversity. The event is thoughtfully designed to be an experience for the whole party; finish line celebrations in the heart of Hvar Town are legendary, and there is even an option for non-competing partners to join the final few hundred meters of the swim. After conquering the channel crossings, you will want to {{link:experiences|explore the local culture and history}} of these ancient Dalmatian settlements. For those seeking the ultimate comfort after a day in the water, we highly recommend that you {{link:accommodations|discover our curated lodging options}}, which range from boutique seaside retreats to premium island resorts.
